Welcome to the

Brief Stall History

In 1995 Rose and her friend Frances went to Whitby Goth festival for the first time and are inspired to try to think of ways they can help out. They come up with the plan of running a Bring and Buy stall for charity. Jo H agrees and kindly offers some space for the stall free of charge downstairs in the Spa. The stall first runs in 1996, it is a roaring success! It was such a success that in 1997 Rose and Frances had to run the stall in a larger space and take on more helpers to assist.

Over the next four years the stall is run by Rose, Frances, Alex and Kat. The festival grows and the stall gets more popular, moving to the Metropole in 2000. Various other people have generously helped on the stall over the years (including Jase, Mim, Chewie, Emily, Fluffymark, Alicia, Abigail and Clive). Catt** joined the team in 2004, John and David in 2005 and Kirsty in 2006.

In April 2008 the stall assisted with raising funds for Mel aka DJ Lucy*Fur (may she rest in peace), who had been diagnosed with incurable Cancer, raising £300 for the Mel Fund.
